Application: Applying these medicines to your lawn needs a special season, and fall is the right season to treat your lawn. During the fall season, the nights are cooler and the morning sun is also not so harsh. This way your chemicals inside the fertilizers will not heat up too much and damage your lawn, but will effectively react, killing all the weeds.

Application method: This is also another important factor which determines the way your lawn will look in the spring. Always use a larger spreader like a garden hose to spray the fertilizer into your lawn. Make sure your medicine reaches every part of the lawn including the pot and kill the weeds that feed as food on your good plants. If you have recently put some plant seed to grow, they too will get affected by these weeds.

Care: After the application of your weed and feed, make sure you do not water them or avoid mowing your lawn. Also apply this fertilizer when there is no forecast for rain, as this will allow the fertilizer to settle well inside the soil and kill the entire pest present in the soil and plants. Water will wash away its effectiveness and proper care should be taken to avoid any water falling on them.

After the treatment if you see anything remaining, like the water grass or crabgrass, then it should be plucked at the roots itself.
