Signs of Cervical Cancer

Cervical cancer is the second most common disease next to breast cancer and as per the 2009 report it has been proved that nearly 20,000 women every year suffer from early symptoms of cervical cancer and is caused between the age 40 and 50.

Therefore it is vital to know the early signs of cervical cancer and how this can go under a treatment such that you face less risk to the advanced stage.

The biggest problem of these signs is that they are only visible at an advance stage and hence one should know how to detect them and get to the doctor for a treatment before they go out of hands. The cervix is a part of the female reproductive system and plays a vital role in pregnancy, uterus functioning and reproduction.

Here are the signs of cervical cancer which once observed should be taken to the doctor immediately.

Abnormal vaginal bleeding: Women may experience excessive bleeding from the vagina during menstruation or even after intercourse. It may come in various forms like heavy bleeding during menstruation, or spotting between menstruations, fluctuating flow in menstruation, bleeding after sex or sometimes even unusual discharge during menstruation. All these symptoms lead to the same cause and it is up to you to know the tendency of your menstruation and report to the doctor for any other unusual bleeding.

Pelvic pain: Long hours of pelvic pain which is not a result of any sort of physical exertion may result in cervical cancer.

Vaginal discharge: Unusual virginal discharge can be one of the symptoms of this cancer. The discharge may or may not have odor.

More urinary frequency: You might feel like urinating more than usual without having a lot of water. This is an alerting point.

Pain during sexual intercourse: You might experience pain while having sex, which means that there is an inflammation in your pelvic tissues. After which you might experience bleeding. At advanced stages it means that the cancer cells have spread to the surrounding areas.

Digestive disorders: You may have excessive constipation and may even develop an enlarged stomach even though your bowel movements are right.

Loss of appetite: A sudden loss of appetite may be one of the symptoms and need a doctor’s attention soon.

A thorough early screening of the virginal area and a series of test will result in the identification of defective cells. This type of cancer if detected early can be removed with the help of a surgery. You could also know about this cancer by reading a lot of health related articles on the internet which talks about its stages, effects and changes in the body.

Medical reports have stated that most of the symptoms if detected early might be cured, or else an advance stage causes the cells to smear over the whole area.

It is always best to be alert and not neglect small changes in your body once you cross your forties. This way you can keep a track of your body and make sure that it is not experiencing any sort of changes.
